We're working hard to ensure the residents of our valley have access to an adequate supply of affordable rental and for sale housing.

Dear Friend,

As housing challenges continue to shape the future of the Mount Washington Valley, the need for strong community leadership has never been more urgent. Your support is vital as we work to ensure our region remains livable, vibrant, and economically sustainable. Join us as a 2026 member of the Mount Washington Valley Housing Coalition (MWVHC) and be part of the movement driving solutions to the Valley’s housing crisis.

In 2025, MWVHC has deepened its impact through strategic partnerships, education, and community engagement. Here are just a few highlights from this year:

  • Partnered with North Country Council to deliver a comprehensive webinar for homeowners interested in building Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). Covering topics including permitting, financing, and more, aimed at empowering residents with practical tools to expand long-term housing options.
  • Delivered targeted financial literacy training for local families participating in Head Start, helping them strengthen their financial foundation to better compete in today’s rental and homeownership markets.
  • Engaged in successful voter outreach in Conway, helping residents understand key housing-related zoning articles, all six of which passed, paving the way for more housing opportunities.
  • Highlighted Employer-Supported Housing at the MWV Chamber Expo through a presentation in collaboration with North Country Council, showing how local businesses can support workforce housing solutions.
  • Facilitated a housing design charrette in North Conway, identifying opportunities and barriers to affordable housing development, and fostering collaborative dialogue with community members.
  • Hosted a roundtable with the Gibson Center, exploring how older homeowners can partner with local employers to provide housing for working professionals, a step toward multi-generational, mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Launched our first-ever Housemate Mixer, encouraging co-housing arrangements and helping residents find shared housing solutions that meet their needs.
  • Maintained a strong community presence at local events such as the Ossipee United Round Table Resource Fair, Military Family Fair, Party in the Park, Jackson Housing Happy Hour, Bark in the Park, MWV Chamber After Hours, and more. Offering information and resources directly to residents.
  • Represented housing concerns on key committees, including the John Fuller Ad Hoc Committee, the Madison Master Plan Steering Committee, and the Age-Friendly Communities initiative, ensuring housing remains a top priority in local planning.
  • Engaged with local groups to foster shared understanding of the housing crisis and explore collaborative solutions.

Your membership makes this work possible. It helps us host forums that inspire action, connect with housing experts and stakeholders, and remain a trusted resource throughout the Valley. As a member, you’ll receive updates on our advocacy work, recognition on our website as a housing supporter, and opportunities for event sponsorship and community engagement.

Becoming a member of the MWVHC means joining a growing network of advocates who believe in sustainable, inclusive housing solutions for all. Together, we can build a future where every resident has access to a safe and affordable home, and every town has the tools to meet the needs of its people.

Join us today and help make that vision a reality for 2026 and beyond.

With gratitude,

The Mount Washington Valley Housing Coalition
